Con regio diploma, in data 30 maggio 1671, fu concesso il titolo di nobile al dottore Giovanni, ai suoi figli ed ai suoi discendenti per la linea maschile. Da tale diploma risulta che lo stesso concessionario aveva già ottenuto il titolo trasmissibile di cavaliere. Gli ascendenti di questa famiglia, unica di tale casato in Sardegna, intervennero nella qualità di nobili al Parlamento generale di Sardegna del 1698 e, del pari sono compresi negli Elenchi dei nobili e dei cavalieri, compilati, nel 1822, dai RR. Prefetti di Sassari di Ozieri e trasmessi alla R. Segreteria di Stato e di Guerra, in occasione dell'assunzione al trono del re Carlo Felice. Famiglia originaria di Ozieri.
