Origine del cognome Polidano, provenienza: Italia - SpagnaTitolo: Nobles - Counts
Ulúa. In the same century a branch of the Polidano moved to Italy and settled in Lombardy, where its members devoted themselves to the practice of advocacy and notary. According to some heraldic reconstruction, the family joined in kinship with the noble House Po of Milan, that obtained the title of Count of Nerviano with magisterial order of July 10, 1697. Moreover, from the analysis of colours and symbols of the coat of arms we can have more information about the family virtues. The tincture purpure among the spiritual virtues symbolizes faith, temperance, chastity, reverence, devotion. For worldly qualities it is a symbol of great nobility, majestic grandeur, reward of honour, wealth, liberality, sovereignty and direct dignity. In tournaments it was a symbol of love. The waves, whose particular tinctures are argent and azure, symbolize the restless and traveller soul; the bridge is symbol of governor or magistrate; gold ("or"), the most noble metal, symbolizes power and wealth but also generosity and elevation of the mind. Family names so old, without any doubt honour not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
