Le fief de Jovyac, franc, noble et ancien appartenait au XVIème siècle à noble n... de Pracomtal, baron de Saussey en Bourgogne, qui le vendit le 13 décembre 1544 à noble Jacques de Froment, dont la fille l'apporta en mariage à la maison d'Hilaire. Cette maison était très ancienne en Dauphiné où on trouve Guillaume habitant à Montéllimar dès l'an 1060; Falques fut à la troisième croisade de 1188 à 1195. Deux membres de cette famille prirent une part active aux guerres religieuses du XVIème siècle. Antoine, protestant, et Jean, catholique. Antoine partecipe à la manifestation protestante du 1er octobre 1567, à Montélimar. Jean, avec d'autres seigneurs catholiques, repousse une incursion protestante du côté de Viviers, en janvier 1587. Son château d'Ancône est surpris, le 28 décembre 1588, par Lesdiguières et il périt dans le combat. ...
