Famiglia tirolese, che conseguì la nobiltà del Sacro Romano Impero per diploma di Ferdinando II, dato a Vienna il 16 gennaio 1626; questa nobiltà fu confermata ed estesa al rango della nobiltà austriaca con diploma dell'imperatore Ferdinando I, in data 21 novembre 1839, con l'aggiunta del predicato di Hulmhort. Nel 1842 la famiglia fu ascritta alla matricola Tirolese e con Breve del 20 aprile 1847, di S.S. Pio IX, Sommo Pontefice, ebbe il titolo di conte della S. Sede (mpr.). Egli ed i suoi discendenti contrassero alleanze coi Calò, Bonomo, Coppo, Francol de Francolsperg, Saurer, Peckel de Ehrenlieb, Fecondo de Fruchtental, Stella ecc. La famiglia aggregata al patriziato triestino nel 1687 coll'iscrizione di Prandino Ignazio nel libro della città, diede uomini d'arme, magistrati e sacerdoti. Ferdinando Francesco (n. 1637 m. 1693) e Leonardo Giacomo (n. 1740 m. 1822) furono ufficiali nell'esercito imperiale. Ferdinando (n. 1660) era sacerdote, Ferdinando Felice (n. 1688) e Giusto (n. 1690) erano parroci. Bartolomeo (n. 1625), Pietro Antonio (n. 1631) e Bernardo Marco (n. 1636) esercitarono l'avvocatura. Prandino (n. 1665) fu anche rettore di Trieste. La discendenza di Bartolomeo (n. 1635) si estinse in Nicolò Giovanni nel 1751. Giacomo Simone (n. 1811 dec. 1853), entrò al servizio dei Pontefici; nel 1839 ottenne la conferma della nobiltà austriaca e il conferimento del predicato di Ulmhont; nel 1842 la nobiltà tirolese e nel 1847 il titolo di conte da S. S. Pio IX. Con diploma del 12 gennaio 1926 vennero riconosciuti dal Governo Italiano tutti i titoli nobiliari dei Prandi. Attualmente questa famiglia è rappresentata dai due fratelli Gino Giacomo, n. nel 1881, coi figli Bernardino e Leonardo, e Aldo Renato, n. 1890, coi figli Ferdinando e Luciana. ...
