Nobility crown PrandoAntica ed assai nobile famiglia tirolese, conosciuta come Prandi o Prando, con nobili diramazioni in Veneto ed in Friuli Venezia Giulia, di chiara e avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognome va ricercata nell'aferesi del nome longobardo "Liutprand". Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, la famiglia ha conseguito la nobiltà del Sacro Romano Impero per diploma di Ferdinando II, dato a Vienna il 16 gennaio 1626; questa nobiltà fu confermata ed estesa al rango della nobiltà austriaca con diploma dell'imperatore Ferdinando I, in data 21 novembre 1839, con l'aggiunta del predicato di Hulmhort. Nel 1842 la famiglia fu ascritta alla matricola Tirolese e con Breve del 20 aprile 1847, di S.S. Pio IX, Sommo Pontefice, ebbe il titolo di conte della S. Sede (mpr.). Egli ed i suoi discendenti contrassero alleanze coi Calò, Bonomo, Coppo, Francol de Francolsperg, Saurer, Peckel de Ehrenlieb, Fecondo ...
