Nobility crown PrattaFamiglia oriunda di Caravaggio, ascritta al Patriziato Milanese fin dal sec. XIV, che però non ha niente in comune con quella omonima dei conti di Olgiate Olona, oggi estinta, la quale discendeva da un Bartolomeo, di Bernardo, abitante nel 1520 a Gera sul Lago di Como. Con decreto 3 agosto 1770 del Tribunale Araldico, Francesco, di Ferrante, il quale trovasi iscritto anche nell'Elenco delle Nobili Famiglie Patrizie Milanesi dell'anno 1769, ottenne che il suo stemma gentilizio fosse delineato nel Codice Araldico Lombardo. Più tardi, Antonio, figlio del predetto Francesco, ottenne dall'Austria la conferma dell'antica nobiltà (Risoluzione Sovrana, 21 novembre 1816). Secondo il Sitoni di Scozia (Theatrum Genealogicu, ms. del 1705 in Archivio di Stato in Milano) la genalogia di questa famiglia comincia da un Inverno de Prata, che viveva nel 1317 e che fu padre ad Ambrogino, notaio di Milano (1317-1337).
