Jean Quinquempoix, qui avait pris part, sous les ordres de Randon-Armand vicomte de Polignac, à la guerre de Thomas de la Marche et practisé avec les Anglais, obtint Jacques Quinquempoix, seigneur de St-Amant, capitaine du château d'Usson, acquit le 1er février 1486, de Jacques de Montboissier, les seigneuries d'Enval, de Benaud et de Lissac et s'y établit. Jeanne était veuve en 1521 de noble Jean Vigier seigneur de la Valette près Usson en Auvergne. Madeleine dame d'Enval, Lissac, Benaud, épousa le 1er juillet 1568 Gilbert du Lac seigneur du Monteil. La distinction familiale représentée ici sous forme de blason, survit à travers les siècles grâce à des précieux témoignages qui nous ont permis de rapporter les exploits et les gestes de cette noble famille.
