Nobility crown RabagoLa familia R., antigua y noble en la Montaña de Santander, procede de la también montañesa de Rubien de Celis, en la siguiente forma: Diego Rubin de Celis (hijo de Rodrigo Rubin de Celis y de su mujer doña Catalina Gutiérrez) dejó su apellido paterno al establecerse en el lugar de Tresabuela, del Ayuntamiento de Poblaciones y partido judicial de Cabuérniga, sustituyéndolo con el de R., debido a que era Señor de la Torre del lugar de Rábago, perteneciente al Ayuntamiento del Valle de Herrerías, en el partido judicial de San Vicente de la Barquera. Sus hermanos, Juan y Fernando, fundaron la Torre de Obeso y la de Pieño, respectivamente. Dicho don Diego Ruin de Celis no sólo es el primero que se apellidó R., sino también el fundador de la casa troncal de la familia R. en el lugar de Tresabuela, cuyos descendientes siguieron apellidándose como su progenitor. Ramas de la misma casa crearon otras en el ya citado lugar de Rábago; en la aldea de Santillán, del Ayuntamiento y partido judicial de San Vicente de la Barquera; en la villa de Cabuérniga, y en el lugar de Espinilla, del Ayuntamiento de Campo de Suso y partido judicial de Reinosa. El fundador de la casa de Tresabuela fué Diego de R., primero que usó el apellido R. al establecerse en el lugar de Tresabuela. Casó con doña María de Terán, en el lugar del Lombraña, del Ayuntamiento de Poblaciones y partido judicial de Cabuérniga, y procrearon a Hernando de R., que también casó en Lombraña con doña Juana Hernández de Vadillo. ...
