Distrutto il loro castello, posto nella valle Acerata quando, nelle lotte delle fazioni, monacciava di cadere nelle mani dei nemici, la famiglia dei conti di Bleda, partigiana degli Ordelaffi, fu condotta a Salto da un Crescenzio, marito di Stefania, da cui derivò quel Rainero, che dette il nome alla famiglia.
