La familia de este apellido es aragonesa y procede de la villa de Castro, que en la actualidad pertenece al partido judicial de Benabarre y provincia de Huesca. Desde tiempos muy antiguos, los R., de Castro, habían sido tenidos por legítimos infanzones de sangre y naturaleza, con solar propio, ya en ruinas, del que aún se conservaba en la primera decena del presente siglo el lienzo de la fachada con magnífica portalada de anchas bóvedas y sobre el arco de la puerta, tallado en piedra, el escudo de armas. Una de sus ramas fundó nuevo casal en el pequeño pueblo de Olvena, que aun cuando también pertenece al partido judicial de Benabarre, dista sólo trece kilómetros de la ciudad de Barbastro. Y otra radicó en la villa La Puebla de Castro, también del partido de Benabarre. Una ejecutoria familiar contiene los siguientes datos genealógicos de los R. de la villa de Castro: Juan R. y su mujer doña Isabel eran vecinos de Castro en mediados del siglo XIV y procrearon a Ramón R., que fué tenido y respetado como legítimo infanzón en dicha villa. Casó en ella con doña María Gudiel, con quien tuvo, entre otros hijos, a Ramón R. Gudiel, sucesor en el casal y posesiones que sus padres tenían en Castro, marido de doña Juana Pardo, y ambos padres de Ramón R. Pardo, que sucedió en la casa y fué tenido por legítimo infanzón.
