Escriben algunos heraldistas que este linaje es originario de Sicilia, pero no ofrecen ningún testimonio ni aportan datos que justifiquen tal origen. Opinamos que es netamente aragonés y nos afirma en esta creencia el hecho comprobado de haber existido un solar de esta familia desde tiempo inmemorial en la villa de Alcolea de Cinca, del partido judicial de Fraga y provincia de Huesca. Ese antiquísimo casal, reputado y tenido siempre como de notorios infanzones, estaba sito en la calle Mayor de dicha villa, confrontando con casas que en el último tercio del siglo XVIII pertenecían a Lorenzo Nogueras, y con la plaza pública, y ostentaba en su fachada, esculpido en piedra sobre la puerta principal, el escudo de armas. Así consta en la Real Provisión Ejecutoria dada por la Real Audiencia de Zaragoza, en 29 de Mayo de 1776, a los R. descendientes de dicho casal y que a la sazón residían en Alcolea de Cinca y en la ciudad de Huesca, los cuales aportaron a la probanza que rindieron los documentos y testimonios justificativos de haber sido sus antepasados infanzones notorios de sangre y naturaleza y de casa y solar conocido. En la misma ejecutoria se dice que aun cuando en el transcurso de los tiempos "había ocurrido el explicarse con variedad el renombre y Apellido, unas veces con el anotado de "R." y otros con el de "Regaliz", en realidad siempre había sido uno mismo, no distinto ni diferente de una misma familia y Casal e idénticos los Originarios de él". ...
