Nobility crown ReingifoEste noble apellido de origen castellano procede de Ávila. Catalina Vázquez R. Dávila, de ilustre familia, contrajo nupcias con el Conquistador Sancho de Vergas, de cuyo enlace nacieron siete hijos. Juan R. de Vargas-Machuca, primogénito de dicho matrimonio, sigue la línea. Fue Alcalde de la villa de Gáldar y se casó en La Laguna de Tenerife, con Doña María de Grimanesa Perdomo, hija de Ibone Hernández, otro de los principales conquistadores de Tenerife. Juan R. testó en 1533 ante Bernardino Justiniano. Continúa la sucesión del apellido R., Don Agustín de Vargas R. "el Viejo", jefe de la Casa de Vargas de Canarias. Con el descubrimiento del Nuevo Mundo, muchos fueron los hombres y mujeres que cruzaron el Atlántico en busca de un nuevo horizonte, y en concreto los que portando el apellido Reingifo extendieron su linaje por América. Así pues, tras nuestra investigación realizada en el Archivo General de Indias, donde consta el nombre de los pasajeros que viajaron al Nuevo Mundo, encontramos que Cristóbal Reingifo y María de Trejo, naturales de Fuente de Cantos, y su hija María, partieron hacia Nueva Andalucía como pobladores, con Francisco de Vides, el 13 de octubre de 1592. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia R., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento león, que es la más noble de las figuras junto con el águila, significa que el origen familiar es muy antiguo o del Reino de León o de Inglaterra, generalmente podríamos pensar que los poseedores de tal símbolo estaban emparentados de alguna forma con la realeza. Los esmaltes, símbolos y metales del arma de los R. pregonan los siguientes valores: la Plata corresponde al símbolo de la Luna, pureza, sinceridad, templanza, clemencia y amabilidad son las características espirituales de la familia, a las que hay que añadir otras como el afán de victoria y éxito y la elocuencia.
