El solar antiguo de los Rendones, dice Morote, es la antigua casa de Sarmiento. El solar infanzon de quien procede este antiguo, claro y magnífico linage, es Villamayor y Salvatierra, en Galicia, cuyo linaje ha tenido famosos héroes y valerosos capitanes, duques, condes y prelados, como fueron los condes de santa Marta, el de Rivadavia y el de Salinas, y otros grandes títulos que se han seguido. Fué de este linaje un famoso caballero llamado Garci Pérez de Burgos, natural de Villamayor, y le llamaron de Burgos por haberse criado en la famosa ciudad de este nombre.
