El solar de este antiguo y noble linaje de Asturias estaba sito en el barrio de Ribón (cuyo nombre tomó por apellido) perteneciente a la parroquia o feligresía de San Tirso de Candamo, que a su vez pertenece al Ayuntamiento de Candamo y partido judicial de Pravia. De ese solar era descendiente en el último tercio del siglo XVI Juan de R., que figura como hijodalgo notorio en el padrón hecho en Callehita entre hidalgos y pecheros de la parroquia de San Tirso de Candamo por Simón Cuervo de Loredo, empadronador noble, y Juan Méndez de Toro, empadronador del estado llano, ante Pedro Fernández, Juez noble, y testimonio del escribano Martín Fernández Marinas, en el año 1614. También está incluído en el padrón de nobles del año 1624. Fué padre de Domingo Rodríguez de R., que sigue. Y se cree que también fué hijo de don Juan Pedro Álvarez R., párroco de Acés, de Santiago de Arenas y del Hospital de Oviedo y Canónigo Magistal de su Catedral, que otorgó testamento, el 6 de Diciembre de 1694, en el Colegio de San Pedro de los Verdes, ante el Escribano de Oviedo Juan de la Cuesta. Domingo Rodríguez de R. fué inscrito como hijodalgo en los padrones de los años 1624, 1639 y 1644. Casó con doña Ana López de Santizo, de quien tuvo estos hijos: El Capitán Juan Rodríguez de R., natural de la parroquia de Santa María de Lamas; y Pedro Rodríguez de R., que sigue. Este Pedro Rodríguez de R. está citado, con sus hijos, en el testamento de su hermano el Capitán don Juan. ...
