Antica ed assai nobile famiglia veneta, con residenza nella città di Verona, di chiara ed avita virtù, conosciuta come Rizzardi o Rizzardo, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La tradizione vuole che tal famiglia discenda da Rizzardo II da Camino (1274 – Treviso, 12 aprile 1312) nobile condottiero italiano della prosapia dei da Camino, potentissimi nella Marca Trevigiana. In ogni modo, i membri di tal famiglia ottennero da Ferdinando-Carlo duca di Mantova il titolo comitale per i primogeniti, riconosciuto poi nel 1757 dalla Repubblica di Venezia ed esteso a tutti i discendenti. Nel 1800 furono invece aggregati al nobile Consiglio di Verona. Nei primi anni del XIX secolo Gaetano fu vicario della valle Pollicella e podestà di Verona.
