Originaria di Bergamo, fu trapiantata in Reggio-Emilia da Gian-Antonio nel 1539. Rinaldo I Duca di Modena con diploma 18 Mar. 1697 concesse a questa famiglia il titolo comitale. Nel 1840 si trapiantò in Milano per una rilevatissima eredità colà lasciata dal march. Marcello Saporiti prozio materno del conte Apollinare Rocca, il quale ne assunse il nome e ne inquartò l'arma genitlizia. Carlo-Alberto Re di Sardegna, con diploma 11 Gen. 1845, costituì in maggiorasco una ragguardevole terra di questa famiglia presso Vigevano col titolo di marchesato della Sforsesca, trasmissibile per primogenitura maschile al capo della famiglia e ne investì per il primo il summenzionato conte Apollinare.
