La famiglia Grisone o Grifone é una diramazione dell'antichissima famiglia di Ravello, la quale, in tempo del Conte Ruggiero fondatore della Monarchia, contava due Ammiragli e molti cavalieri. Dessa a parere di molti autori é creduta di origine romana, discesa da Rutilio Ruffo istitutore de' Tribuni Militari. Si divise la famiglia R. in tre rami principali che si dissero R. de' Gigli, R. delle Stelle e R. de' Vairi o Vaj da' quali ultimi ebbe origine la famiglia Grisone dalla quale per possesso de' feudi di Ajeta e Tortora furono originate le due famiglie di tal nome. La famiglia ha goduto nobiltá in Napoli nel Seggio di Nido, in Ravello, in Giovinazzo, in Molfetta, ed in Scala, possedette il feudo di Torella, e si estinse completamente. Di essa si veggono Monumenti in Napoli nelle Chiese di S. Domenico Maggiore e di S. Agostino, ed in Ravello nel Duomo. La famiglia ...
