Família descendente de Luís de A. e Sampayo, bacharel formado em Leis (U.C.), ouvidor-geral das justiças da capitania de Mato Grosso, cavaleiro professo na o. de Cristo (alv. de 4.3.1769), bisneto por legítima varonia de Francisco de Sampayo de Azevedo que militou nas campanhas de Restauração e foi furriel-mór do castelo de São Jorge, em Lisboa, e legítimo descendente dos Sampayos de S.ta Maria de Pombeiro de Riba Vizela. Deste Francisco de Sampayo de Azevedo, também conhecido por Francisco de Azevedo, foi 3º neto o desembargador José-Joaquim de Azevedo Reynaud de Sampayo, bacharel formado em Leis (U.C.), ouvidor e corregedor da comarca de Alenquer como desembargador do Porto, cavaleiro professo na o. de Cristo (alv. de 9.4.1804), que justificou a sua nobreza em 1773, tendo-lhe sido passada carta de brazão de armas dos Azevedos e Sampayos a 22.7 do mesmo ano. Do acima citado dr. Luís de Azevedo e Sampayo foi filha única D. Luísa-Laureana-Efigénia de Azevedo e Sampayo que c. na freg. de S. Sebastião da Pedreira, Lisboa, a 1.2.1786, com Caetano-José Cortez da Silveira, dos Silveiros do Faial, tendo n. D. Maria-Romana Cortez de Sampayo, filha representante e herdeira universal de seu avô Luís, que c. na freg. de S. Sebastião da Pedreira, Lisboa, a 10.1.1814, com João-António da Silva Rebello, filho de Luís-José da Silva (descendente, por varonia, de Manuel da Silva que n. no séc. XVI na sua quinta de Alpedrinha) e mulher D. Rosália-Joaquina Rebello de Abreu. ...
