Vino a España desde Perpiñán para intervenir en la conquista del reino de Valencia en servicio del rey aragonés don Jaime I. Luchó valerosamente en el Puig, Valencia, Ribarrocha, Játiva y Alcoy, y en premio de sus hazañas y lealtad, le premió dicho monarca heredándole ricamente en la ciudad de Jijona, designándole también para organizar el reparto de tierras. En Ibi, villa del partido judicial de Jijona (Alicante), le dejó por conservador del castillo Rojo, que él había sabido ganar y que luego restauró.
