Linaje aragonés. Su más antiguo solar radicó en el Valle de Tena (cuyo nombre tomó), del partido judicial de Jaca y provincia de Huesca. Varios autores concretan ese dato afirmando que dicho solar estaba en el lugar de Panticosa, del mismo Valle de Tena, y que era solar de notorios infanzones. Algunas de sus ramas pasaron a Castilla y Andalucía, enlazando con familias muy principales, y muchos fueron los varones que dieron lustre a este linaje. Martín de T. sirvió a Carlos V en sus empresas militares, distinguiéndose por su arrojo. Santiago T., oriundo del Valle de Tena, pero nacido en el Señorío de Vizcaya, murió heroicamente en la batalla de Lepanto. Lope de T. luchó en Flandes como Teniente de Infantería de la compañía de don Antonio de Leiva. Vuelto a España casó con doña Luisa de Villegas, de la casa de este apellido en Cuenca y hermana del Capitán García de Villegas, Caballero de Santiago en 1528. Pedro Lorenzo de T. juró como infanzón al Príncipe de España, en Zaragoza, en 1646. Luis de T., natural de la ciudad de Guadix (Granada) fué canónigo de Toledo y después Obispo de Tortosa. Escribió un volumen comentando las Epístolas de San Pablo a los hebreos, y se lo dedicó al Rey Felipe III. La impresión se hizo en Toledo en el año 1611. Pedro de T. Pardo fué Gentilhombre de la Real Casa del mismo Monarca Felipe III. Era hijo de Saturnino de T. y de doña Isabel de Prado, hermana de Francisco Prado, Caballero de Santiago. ...
