Mentionnée dès le XIIIème siècle, elle fut admise au noble chapitre de Brioude en 1431, ce qui supposait une preuve de noblesse de cinq degrés. Jean était seigneur de Lauriat en 1400. Faucon et Vital furent inscrits à l'armorial manuscrit de 1450; François, convoqué au ban de 1543. Françoise, fille de Guillaume, seigneur d'Espalem, épousa en avril 1589, François de Riom, seigneur de Prolhac. François époux d'Antoinette, sa cousine, fut le père de Madeleine, marié en 1639 à Alexandre de Montservier, chevalier, seigneur d'Orsonnette et d'Auzat-sur-Allier. Éteinte avec Marie dame de Toursiac, alliée le 16 août 1636, à François de Boisset, seigneur et baron de la Salle, coseigneur de Vic-en-Carladès, dont les descendants furent substitués au nom de Torsiac. On trouve encore sous ce nom: deux abbés de Pébrac, prieurs de la Bajasse: Austorg et Henri (1400-1412-1438); deux chanoines-comtes de Brioude (1431-1541); des hommes d'armes, etc. ...
