Nobility crown ValoquiaPor referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en la toma de Barcelona el año 803, formando parte de las tropas que Alfonso II envió a su aliado y amigo Carlomagno para reforzar el sitio que las tropas francas y el godo Bera habían iniciado en el año 801 contra el gobernador de Barcelona el islámico Zado. Las referencias de esta familia parecen precisarse con más frecuencia desde el siglo XV al XIX en especial los hechos de la toma de San Quintin, el 27 de Agosto de 1557, en el asalto final a la ciudad, también se dice que un miembro de esta familia fué el que tomó prisionero al almirante Coligny, heroico defensor de San Quintin. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Valoquia. Son sus armas: En oro, una torre de su color, sumada de un león rampante alterado de gules. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia V., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento torre significa que la nobleza es sólida y antigua, pues solamente los muy ricos podían costearse su construcción. Los esmaltes del arma de los V. pregonan los siguientes valores: el Oro es el símbolo del Sol, origen de la vida, sus características espirituales corresponden a la fé, clemencia, templanza, caridad y justicia, por otra parte dicho esmalte señala a la familia con la felicidad, el amor, la nobleza y el esplendor, es decir, es el más noble de los metales. ...
