La famiglia di Fermo, è estinta fin dal sec. XVII. Marcantonio Gigliucci morto a Firenze nel 1654 fu l'ultimo di questa nobile famiglia fermana. Egli era figlio di Pietro di Marcantonio di Domenico Gigliucci e di Caterina Azzolino della famiglia del celebre Cardinale. Senonchè sul principio del 1700 circa un Giulio Cesare Morici, di illustre famiglia patrizia fermana, si attribuì l'onore (per le ragioni che or si dirà) di continuare l'antica e ricchissima famiglia Gigliucci facendone come un maggiorasco per il suo secondogenito Claudio Bonifazio. Il detto Giulio Cesare era figlio di Giov. Battista Morici, che discendeva da Claudio Morici ed Isabella Montani; questa, figlia alla sua volta di Giulio Cesare Montani e Aurelia Gigliucci, la quale Aurelia era figlia di Domenico Gigliucci bisavolo di quel marcantonio morto a Firenze nel 1654.
