On rencontre sous ce nom plusieurs personnages dignes de mémoire: Etienne fut témoin avec Guillaume et Gérard de Tailhac, de la donation faite au monastère de Pèbrac, par la veuve et les enfants de Drogon de Meyronne, l'an 1140; Pierre et sa femme Dalmase Allemand, sœur de Brunissende et fille de Guillaume Allemand, de Solignac, vendent des terres sises à Prunet, à Godefroy de Cayres damoiseau (1261). Peytavine, veuve de Falcon de Villaret, rend hommage, le 19 octobre 1338, à Godefroy de Cayres, seigneur d'Agrain, du terroir de Montlong. Etienne IV damoiseau, seigneur de Séjaillières et de Montlong (1362), fut père de Guillaume, chevalier, bayle de la Cour commune pour le roi et l'évêque du Puy, mort en 1391. On trouve encore: Guigon, chevalier (1322); Marguerite, dame de St-Quentin-sur-Loire (1334); Jean, seigneur de Cussac, bayle de la Cour commune du Puy, autorisé le 7 janvier 1441 par le vicomte de Polignac, à réparer sa maison forte de Cussac; Claude, seigneur de Beaufort, capitaine du château de Ceyssac, témoin le 3 juillet 1473 du testament de Guillaume-Armand XIII, vicomte de Polignac; Christophe, seigneur de Lespinasse en 1659. ...
