Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, la famiglia sarebbe della stessa agnazione dei Boarino, nobile casato di Bra, di cui lo studioso Antonio Mathis offre tre tavole genealogiche a partire da un Pietrino, consigliere del comune di Bra nel 1500 e la cui nobiltà risulta confermata dalla sua presenza nella pregevole opera "Il Patriziato Subalpino" di Antonio Manno. E' infatti ipotizzabile che i Boarino, una volta estintisi, siano continuati a fiorire nelle diramazioni collaterali le quali, talvolta, sono state anagraficamente trascritte in maniera differente.
