Hay distintas casa solares de este apellido. Una de ellas radicó en Musácola, cerca de Mondragón (Guipúzcoa), de la que fué Señor Juan de Z., casado con doña María de Salinas, a la que hizo madre de Francisca Magdalena de Z. y Salinas, mujer de Ascensio Medina; de Antonia, esposa de Juan de Aspinazu; de Ana, que celebró su enlace con Blas de Barrutia; de María, casada con Lucas de Resusta, y de Catalina, que se unió en matrimonio con Miguel de Arregui. El hijo mayor y sucesor fué el Capitán Pedro de Z. y Salinas, que murió en Mondragón en 1640, después de haber servido muchos años en la Real Armada de la Carrera de Indias. Estuvo casado en Larrabezúa con doña Marina de Sarricolea. Sin sucesión. Otra familia, muy antigua, de Z. moró en la villa de Villarreal de Urrechu (también en Guipúzcoa), en cuya jurisdicción se alza su casa solariega, frenta a la cuesta de Descarga. Es una hermosa torre del siglo XVII, que adquirió modernamente nueva notoriedad por haber nacido en ella el guerrillero Artzaya, que de pastor de ovejas de esta montaña pasó a ser caudillo de las huestes guipuzcoanas contra los franceses, ascendiendo al grado de General de los Ejércitos españoles. Se llamó Gaspar de Jáuregui. Cerca de dicha casa tuvo este linaje una ermita propia, bajo la advocación de San Juan Bautista. Pedro de Z., Señor de esta casa, contrajo matrimonio con doña Domenja de Aguinaga-Zaldúa, y tuvieron, entre otros hijos. ...
