D’argento a tre fascie ondate d’azzurro, col capo dello stesso, sostenuto dalla trangla d’oro e caricato da tre stelle del medesimo. Corona di marchese.

Blasone della famiglia Barone di Reggio. Fonte bibliografica: "Nobiliario di Sicilia" di Antonio Mango di Casalgerardo (Palermo, A. Reber, 1912) custodito presso la biblioteca centrale della regione Sicilia. Note: Questa mobilissima famiglia della città di Reggio, godette anche nobiltà in Messina. Vanta un Guglielmo consigliere del re Ferdinando nel 1467, un Paolo, nipote del precedente, vice secreto di Reggio nel 1529 e padre di Giovan Domenico, da cui ne venne: Silvio sindaco di detta città nel 1565 ed ambasciatore per la stessa presso il serenissimo D. Giovanni D’Austria. Un Ottavio, figlio del precedente, fu barone di Montebello, per la moglie Lucrezia Abbenavoli, titolo poscia innalzato in quello di marchese e che il Galluppi attribuisce nel suo Nobiliario di Messina al comm. Carlo-Alfonso Barone contrammiraglio nella R. Marina. Nella Mastra nobile di Messina del 1807 troviamo annotato un Domenico marchese di Montebello, con i figli Paolo e Giuseppe, quest’ultimo brigadiere nel reali eserciti. È passata questa famiglia varie volte all’ordine di Malta.
