Wie auch der Historiker, Heraldist und königliche Beauftragte für die heraldische Beratung Antonio Manno berichtet, weist sie einen gemeinsamen Ursprung mit den Äbten von Florenz und Rom sowie mit den Äbten von Sizilien auf. Die ersten Aufzeichnungen über diese Adelsfamilie stammen aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, in Bezug auf die Belehnung von Bauerngütern im Jahr 1694 in Peveragno. Giovanni Vincenzo A., geboren 1754 und gestorben 1843, war ein leidenschaftlicher Gemäldesammler, Schriftsteller, Archäologe, Partisan zur Zeit der französischen Herrschaft in Italien. Er schenkte König Vittorio Emanuele I. neununddreißig Kodizes der subalpinen Geschichte; mit königlichen Patenten vom 11.
