Un diploma emanato dall'imperatore Leopoldo, in data 23 marzo 1699, conferma i privilegi spettanti al vescovo, mentre una lettera del Procuratore generale di S. M., datata 21 settembre 1757, sancisce la legittimità per il vescovo di Acqui di assumere il titolo di principe del Sacro Romano Impero, costituendo così un riconoscimento ufficiale di tale prerogativa. ...
