De la casa solar de la villa de Amescoa procedieron los Albizu de Valencia. Los primeros de éstos de que se tiene noticia son los hermanos Vicente y Juan de Albizu. Vicente fue uno de los escribanos de mandamiento del católico rey Felipe en la corona de Aragón. Casó con doña Violante de Guimerá, de la ilustre familia del principado de Cataluña. Dicho Vicente y su hermano Juan eran hidalgos infanzones, según lo probaron con muchos testigos ante el juez ordinario de la ciudad de Valencia, y consta en la sentencia que dio este juez el 24 de octubre de 1577.
