A tale illustre stirpe appartennero numerosi personaggi di chiara fama e dignità, tra i quali si rammenta un Niccolò, milite, che nell’anno 1357 rivestì l’ufficio di Maestro Razionale della Gran Corte; un Ranieri, che nel 1404 fu consigliere di Stato e di guerra presso la corte di Re Martino, e padre di un Andrea, il quale ottenne, in data 31 gennaio 1452, dai Viceré di Sicilia, la conferma dell’ufficio della baiulazione di Messina, conferma che, in data 16 settembre 1472, fu rinnovata in favore del figlio Filippo. Costui generò, tra gli altri, Bernardino, che fu senatore di Messina nell’anno 1518 e padre di Gaspare, da cui nacque Giovanni Gaspare, il quale contrasse matrimonio con Giulia Di Giovanni. Uno Scipione fu maestro credenziere di Messina nell’anno 1594, mentre un Giuseppe Alifi, in data 27 marzo 1666, ricevette investitura dell’ufficio di baglivo di Messina ...
