Nobility crown AltOn trouve, sous ce nom latin, la maison d'Haulterive parfois appelés Vals d'Haulterive. Antique chevalerie. Étienne (lat.: Stephanus de Altarippa) fut témoin en 1150 d'une acquisition de terres, faite par l'Hôtel-Dieu du Puy au lieu de Ramourouscle. Il est mentionné dans le renouvellement, le 20 juillet 1255, par le châpitre de N.-D. du Puy, de l'ancienne charte des obits communs aux clercs de N.-D. et aux religieux de l'abbaye de St-Pierre le Monastier. Etienne II est qualifié chevalier en 1231. Etienne III testa le 30 juillet 1300, ayant survécu à son fils Jean. Il institua héritier son petit-fils, Bertrand chevalier, qui vend un fief à Espaly, le 6 mars 1313 et est dit veuf en 1301, d'Adhémare de Châteauneuf de Rochebonne, fille de Guillaume. Bertrand eut pour soeur: I° Catherine dame de Vals, femme de Maurin ou Maurice de Châteauneuf, frère d'Etienne, signeur de Vals; 2° Isabeau dite Adhémare, dame de Cordes, première femme de Guillaume, dit Audibert de Châteauneuf. Après eux on trouve: Hugon, seigneur d'Haulterive en 1330, mort sans laisser de posterité d'Isabelle de Saint-Didier, remariée en 1343 à Henri de Rochebaron, seigneur de Leyniec. Etienne IV de Vals, seigneur de Haulterive, avait fait un legs, le 10 octobre 1330, au convent des frères mineurs du Puy, leur engageant la terre de Haulterive conjointement avec son frère Hugon. Sa fille Aymare était chanoinesse d La Vaudieu, le 21 mars 1330. Deux chanoines-comtes de Brioude (1325); un abbé de Pébrac: Dalmace de Vals (1383-1399). ...
