La nobile e vetusta stirpe degli Antimaci trae le sue remote origini dal ceppo longobardo, popolo fiero e guerriero che lasciò profonda impronta nella storia delle genti italiche. Questa illustre famiglia, già fiorente e distinta nella città di Mantova sin dall’anno del Signore 766, seppe guadagnarsi onore e rispetto presso i suoi contemporanei, elevandosi nei secoli a rango di casato potente e influente. Fu nell’anno 1220 che gli Antimaci raggiunsero l’apice del loro prestigio, consolidando il proprio nome tra le più eminenti casate dell’epoca. La loro fama, nutrita da virtù, valore e lungimiranza, non rimase confinata alla sola terra mantovana: col tempo, i discendenti di tale illustre lignaggio si dispersero in varie contrade della penisola, portando con sé l’antico blasone e perpetuando il retaggio degli avi in molte regioni d’Italia.
