Nobility crown AresoEbbe patenti di cavalierato nel 1635. Famiglia oristanese le cui notizie risalgono al sec. XVI. Godevano di grande reputazione ed erano in possesso di un notevole patrimonio; nel 1575 un Giorgio era procuratore reale e collettore delle rendite di Oristano. Nel 1634 un dottor Giovanni Antonio ottenne il cavalierato ereditario e nel 1635 la nobiltà. A partire dal 1653 i suoi discendenti furono ammessi allo stamento militare e presero parte a tutti i Parlamenti. Della casata possono essere altre le origini: un'antica famiglia milanese, che annovera parecchi decurioni nei secoli XIV e XV. Bartolomeo (viv. 1588) fu dei XII di Provvisione e padre di Marco Antonio, senatore, da cui Giulio (m. 1627), presidente del Senato, i cui scritti sono ricordati dall'Argelati (Bibl. Script. Mediol, 1, p. 2a, p. 90 seg.). Da questi nacque altro Bartolomeo (1590-1674), creato conte da re Filippo IV con dipl. 11 marzo 1627, dei XL decurioni, ...
