Ses descendants, obligés plus tard de s'expatrier, se fixèrent en Provence, Forez, Limousin. La branche de Provence a produit: Pierre de Libertat, qui contribua par son courageà soumettre Marseille sous la denomination d'Henri IV. Jean-Armand, né en 1728, acquit le château et la baronnie de Cornillon en Forez (1798). Armand, nommé viceprésident du tribunal civil de St-Etienne sous la Restauration, président de la societé d'Agriculture de la Loire, chevalier de la Lègion d'honneur, est l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages de droit sur la législation des Mines, qui font encore école. Deux de ses fils ont contracté des alliances en Velay: 1° André-Léon, marié en 1852 à Cécile de Goys, d'ou postérité actuellement possessionnée au Puy, aux châteaux de Doue près Brives et de latour près Coubon; 2° Adrien, marié en 1857 à Caroline de Noyer de Sauvage du Roure, dont un des fils: Henry, capitaine de cavalerie, chevalier de la Légion d'honneur, a été institué héritier de son oncle René de Noyer de Sauvage du Roure, à la charge par lui d'en prendre le nom et les armes.
