Nobility crown BellomoAntichissima famiglia della nobiltà municipale romana, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. In Roma i membri di tal famiglia ricoprirono le più alte cariche cittadine: Cecco divenne Conservatore di Roma tra la fine del secolo decimo quarto e gli inizi del decimo quinti; parimenti Mario e Giovan Battista, verso la metà del secolo XVI. A metà secolo decimo quinto, i Bellomo ebbero il privilegio di titolarsi conti di Tivoli, in persona di un Evangelisto, e riuscirono ad acquisire la cappellania dell’Annunciazione all’interno della basilica di Santa Maria ad Martyres. Un ramo del casato era però già passato in Sicilia con un Luigi, romano, al tempo dell'imperatore Federico II, dal quale, in ricompensa dei preziosi servigi militari prestati, ricevette in feudo Belmonte.
