Nobility crown BersiAntica ed assai nobile famiglia della Dalmazia, originariamente conosciuta come Bercich o Bersich, un cui ramo fu ufficialmente riconosciuto come Bersi, in base al decreto 30 aprile 1930 del Regno d'Italia, dato in Pola. Originari di Zara, i B. hanno diramato in moltissimi luoghi, quali Fiume, Trieste, Rovigno, Budapest ed altri. Il primo personaggio di cui abbiamo notizia storica certo è un Pietro Bercich, scultore e architetto dalmata, ricordato come "Petrus magistri Georgii de Barberio", cioè di Bribir, nato intorno al 1430 che, nel 1457, sposò Simonetta, figlia di Floriano, di Pietro da Sebenico. Per ravvisare però atti di conferma della nobiltà, dobbiamo fare un salto temporale di alcuni secoli. Ed infatti, con diploma dato a Vienna, il 2 novembre 1896, l'imperatore d'Austria Francesco Giuseppe concedeva ad Antonio ed ai suoi legittimi discendenti il titolo di nobile col predicato di Gornje Selo (Gornieselo) e l'uso di un particolare stemma.
