Nobility crown BoteroEn Antioquía, departamento de la República de Colombia, está notablemente extendido este linaje, y cuenta entre sus hijos a varios hombres ilustres. El apellido B. no es de origen español, sino italiano, y el primero de este linaje que pasó a Antioquía fué un genovés llamado Juan Andrés B., hijo de Juan Bautista B. y de doña Manuela Bernabino de la Sierra, naturales de la ciudad de Génova. El citado D. Juan Andrés marchó al Valle de San Nicolás, de Ríonegro (Antioquía), a principios del siglo XVIII, y allí radicó, dedicándose a la agricultura. Casó en el mismo valle con doña Antonia Mejía, de la que tuvo estos hijos: primero Félix, que casó tres veces: la primera con doña Juana Jaramillo, la segunda con doña Josefa Atehortúa y la tercera con doña Francisca Cadavid; de esta última tuvo únicamente un hijo, que fué el famoso Padre José María B., que tanta guerra dió al Gobierno de Santander, segundo Juan José, esposo de doña Francisca Echeverri, tercero Pedro Luis, marido de doña Mariana Palacio, cuarto José Antonio, que casó con doña Mariana Molina, quinto Miguel Jerónimo, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Bárbara Echeverri, sexta Ignacia, mujer de Miguel Echeverri, y séptimo Juana María, esposa de Juan Bautista Vallejo. De todos estos matrimonios quedó, como decimos, numerosa sucesión en Colombia. ...
