Bonifacio Bologni nelle "Memorie patrie" a pagina 61 e da Francesco Bresciani, che menzionano "FRANCESCO del fu GIACOMO", insignito di tal dignità nel 1539, con rogiti fino al 1577. Bresciani ricorda altresì un secondo "FRANCESCO", ammesso al collegio nel 1559, probabilmente figlio di "GIOVANNI" o di "MARCANTONIO", proprietari di terre a Casteldidone, citate nel "Libro de' livelli". Il figlio di questo Francesco si trasferì a Ferrara, dove nacque "GIUSEPPE" attorno al 1600, divenuto insigne pittore, la cui fama fu lodata dall’abate Lanzi nella "Storia pittorica".
