Nobility crown CamusLinaje originario de Vizcaya. En la villa de Bermeo, del partido judicial de Guernica, tuvo su primitiva casa solar, que estaba sita cerca de la iglesia mayor, en la que tenía enterramiento propio. Enlazó esta casa de C., en Bermeo, con la de Zugasti, y era Señor de ella, en mediados del siglo XV, Pedro de C. Zugasti. De la misma casa de Bermeo dimanaron las casas y ramas santenderinas. El mencionado Pedro de C. Zugasti, Señor de la casa de Bermeo en el siglo XV y natural y vecino de dicha villa, casó con doña Mari Toar y fueron padres de Pedro de C. Zugasti, segundo del nombre y natural de Bermeo, que se avecindó en Santander, en el barrio de Cajo, en 1506, y fundó allí nueva casa. Contrajo matrimonio con doña Catalina de Noja, en la que procreó a Gonzalo de C., natural y vecino de Canjo y esposo de doña María Gutiérrez de Escobedo (hija de Pedro Gutiérrez de Cueto y de su mujer doña María de Escobedo). Dicho matrimonio instituyó vínculo en Cajo el año de 1521 y tuvo los siguientes hijos: Pedro de C., que sigue; Francisco de C., que casó con Clara de Escalante, estos esposos vivían en 1593; Gonzalo de C., Prebendado y Vicario de la iglesia Colegial, de Santander, en 1593; Juan de C., marido de doña María Gutiérrez; Catalina de C., que casó con Diego de Villanueva; y María de C., esposa de Pedro Cruceño. El primero, Pedro de C., testó en Santander el año de 1597 ante Juan Salmón, escribano. ...
