Nobility crown CandussoAntica ed illustre famiglia friulana, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e d'Austria. L'origine di questo cognome va ricercata nel personale "Candidus", più specificatamente nella variante "Candùs, Candussio". Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, la famiglia fu dichiarata nobile nel corso del sedicesimo secolo ma di essa se ne ha memoria anche in epoche anteriori. Il principale nucleo dei Candusso si ebbe nell'udinese, in particolare in Ragogna, dove compare con assiduità a partire dal censimento del 1880. Ma rinveniamo altri insediamenti più antichi anche a Cividale, a San Daniele e a Maiano. In Carinzia fiorirono invece i Candussi. Nel 1464 troviamo menzione di "Hiob Candussi (de) Leonardi etiam de dicta villa Sup(er)iori" di Tramonti di Sopra mentre in Carnia era nota la famiglia dei Candussi di Nonta, oggi estinta, di cui si hanno notizie dal 12 agosto 1582 con un "Pauli Candussij de ...
