La comunità ha i titoli di contessa di Salzasco e S. Bernardo per Patenti 29 aprile 1695, e i titoli di signora di S. Michele con S. Grato, S. Pietro e S. Giovanni di Moncucco. I primogeniti dei marchesi di Saluzzo portavano il titolo di conti di Carmagnola. Più tardi, nel 1533, Carmagnola fu data in feudo ai Tornielli; poi venne l'affrancamento.
