Cette famille a été reconnue noble par un arrêt du Conseil Supérieur de la Corse du 10 Novembre 1775, établissant la filiation depuis le noble Michel, dont le fils, noble Alphonse, mourut vers 1568 à Bastia. A la mort de ce dernier, la tutelle de ses enfants fut confiée à un parent, le noble Jean-Andrè. Michel, qui peut être le fils de cet Alphonse, occupait les fonctions de Lieutenant du gouverneur génois de la Corse en 1660. Il fut élu l'un des trente nobles de Corse en 1661 et 1663.
