Nobility crown CataldoFamiglia trevigiana, di chiara ed antica nobiltà, detta Cataldo, De' Cataldis o Di Cataldo, passata in Messina, primieramente al XV secolo e, successivamente, propagatas in diverse regioni d'Italia. Sempre, tal casato, si illustrò per i virtuosi personaggi, a cui diede in natali, tra i quali, ricordiamo: Matteo, giurato di Mazzara nel 1419-20; Giovanni, senatore di Catania nel 1492-93 e nel 1500-501; Giuseppe, giudice straticoziale di Messina nel 1576-77; Gioacchino, da Messina, il quale, con privilegio dato il 30 settembre 1518 esecutoriato il 14 gennaio 1519, ottenne il titolo di regio cavaliere; Antonio, dottore in "utroque jure", vivente in Messina, nel 1524; D. Carlo, dottore in Teologia, Canonico e Pronotario Apostolico, vivente in Messina, nel 1562. La famiglia venne accolta nell'ordine di Malta, come quarto di altra famiglia, nel 1575, in persona di Giacomo le Calze-Cataldo-Stagno-Faraci. La famiglia alzò per arma. D'azzurro, al leone d'oro accompagnato da due stelle dello stesso. ...
