Da Mariano, padre del Magnifico Agostino e di quel Francesco che fu autore della linea dei Patrizi di Montorio, nacque Gismondo, che completò la magnifica villa delle Volte. Qui egli ricevette il papa Giulio II, che nel 1502 gli concesse di poter inquartare nello stemma la rovere d'oro.
