El linaje Chirinos, noble y de antigua estirpe, tiene sus raíces en la región de Galicia, España. Su solar primitivo se ubicaba en Lamas, Pontevedra. El caballero Pay Chirino, descendiente directo de este linaje y almirante de Castilla, acompañó al rey Fernando III el Santo en la conquista de Sevilla. Tras esta gesta, regresó a su tierra natal donde falleció y fue sepultado en la iglesia de San Francisco de Pontevedra.
Otros miembros de la familia Chirino de Galicia también participaron en la conquista de Andalucía, fundando casas señoriales en ciudades como Úbeda (Jaén) y Cádiz. Asimismo, establecieron su residencia en Cuenca.
