Nobility crown CidHubo diversas casas solares de este apellido, sin relación de vínculo ni de parentesco entre algunas de ellas. En el lugar de Guede, del Ayuntamiento de Alláriz (Orense), radicó una de mucha antigüedad y varias de sus líneas moraron en la villa de Alláriz y en el lugar de Barbadanes, del partido de Orense, habiendo probado su hidalguía algunos de sus individuos en los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII y consevándose sus pruebas en la Real Chancillería de Valladolid. Otra línea de la misma casa gallega moró en la ciudad de Orense y otra pasó a Portugal. En fines del siglo XV ya tenía asiento en Zamora otra familia Cid, quizá dimanada igualmente de la casa gallega. También hubo casas de este apellido en Aragón. Una radicó en la ciudad de Huesca y otra en el lugar de Nerín, del Ayuntamiento de Fanlo y partido judicial de Boltaña (Huesca). Otra familia C. aparece establecida en fines del siglo XVI en la villa de Yébenes, de la provincia de Toledo. En Chile hay también de este apellido y proceden de Alonso C. Maldonado (cuya ascendencia ignoramos), que marchó a Chile con el Almirante Flores de Valdés, en su expedición al Estrecho de Magallanes. Fué Sargento mayor del Ejército en 1610, Comisario general de la Caballería y Maestre de Campor general del Reino en 1624. Casó con doña Mariana González Salguero y dejaron sucesión en Chile. ...
