Le prime memorie risalgono al secolo XV con Ambrogio, che fu dei cancellieri di Francesco Sforza nel 1463 e con Francesco, che ricevette beni feudali in enfiteusi dal capitolo di Casale nel 1469 ed acquistò giurisdizione sopra Quattordio, Roccasparviera e Masio. Egli entrò nell'ordine delle famiglie casalesche di baldacchino: onoranza che perdurò nella sua schiatta anche dopo l'emigrazione ad Alessandria. Un Giangiacomo, morto nel 1601, fu giureconsulto, avvocato generale, segretario e cancelliere di Cristierna di Danimarca, signora di Tortona (1583, 1591). Un Evandro, morto nel 1608, fu capitano di giustizia a Mantova (1617), poi senatore a Casale; pubblicò i Consilia (Casale, 1600) e le Elucubrationes (Casale 1615).
