Nobility crown ColnagoFamiglia di origine milanese passata in Sicilia, dice Inveges, la quale trasse il cognome dal possesso della terra di Colnago nel monte di Brianza. Sostenne cariche rilevanti, e potè vantare uomini illustri, come a dire un Simone esimio filosofo, avendo dal duca Visconte ottenuto quella terra; un Giannandrea amico e confidente di S. Carlo Borromeo; un Giambattista sindaco perpetuo, ecc. Un Vincenzo Colnago poi fu il primo a trapiantarla in Sicilia nel 1470; da lui un Antonio, da cui discendono i baroni di S. Venera in Palermo.
