Nobility crown ComelloSecondo una antica tradizione, i Comello, anche conosciuti come Comelli, sarebbero venuti dalla Francia al Castello di Nimis (Friuli). Essi sono stati antichi cittadini di Udine, patrizi di Gradisca e servirono la Repubblica Veneta nel 1460, sotto Bartolomeo da Bergamo. Domenico C., il 25 settembre 1504, ebbe una investitura feudale nei pressi di Gradisca. L'imperatore Massimiliano insignì la famiglia della Nobiltá equestre del S.R.I. per meriti di guerra e di lettere, nobiltà confermata poi dal Decreto 12 gennaio 1660 dall'Imperatore Leopoldo, che aggiunse al casato dei Comello il predicato di Stuckenfeld. Stanislao II, Re di Polonia, creò conte Domenico, di Carlo Francesco, suo Ciambellano alla Corte di Varsavia e Cavaliere di Malta, nella seconda metà del secolo XVII. Da Nimis alcuni membri della famiglia passarono a Gradisca ed altri a Chioggia e poi a Venezia, al cui ramo appartengono gli attuali rappresentanti della famiglia, discendenti da Vincenzo, di Domenico, nato ...
